It’s one of the newest food establishments to open in my area. It is housed on the ground floor of Citadines, a service apartment. Aburi serves your Japanese favorites, specializing on torched nigiri sushi.
On this solo dinner I tried their Tamago Aburi first. It had a nice touch of shoyu and aburi mayo clamped together on Japanese rice. I just had to sample what makes a torched, raw starter different from the usual.
I also had a hefty bowl of Spicy Salmon Salad. I veered away from the popular Tuna version and did not get disappointed. This was made more special with my own version of Japanese dip- ample wasabi, mixed with some soy sauce and green tea to tame its saltiness.
Their Katsudon although generous with pork tonkatsu lacked egg and was on the salty side. This has always been my go to Donburi. Its accompanying bowl of Miso Soup does help on overall taste.
