I am quite certain you have either tried Amici or heard of its modern take on Italian cuisine. Today it has branches on key areas of the Metro, after being around for more than 10 years. You can expect fairly priced quality dishes from their own versions of pizza, pasta, chicken and Italian gelato.
Let me give you a brief history of how this all started. The first ever branch was actually inside the boundaries of a school, also in Makati, then called Amici Di Don Bosco. The word of good Italian got out too quickly and people from all walks of life started flocking Don Bosco to eat. That once a humble space opened up its menu to the outside. The Moran family is currently at the helm, and Chef Paolo continues to innovate new products for you and me.
Chef Paolo has restaurant experience in both Florence and Sicily and has been immersed in true Italian cooking. And on this recent invite, he together with brother Philip, launched a new set of modern Italian pizza and antipasti. It is yet another offering coming from their recent 10th year anniversary.
For starters, there’s the Trio Platter (Php 525). It was such a festive and hearty plate full of Mozzarella Frito, Chicken Tenders, and Italian Chips with sauces. Finally, an appetizer that can be shared with an audience of different preferences. This plate is value for money, folks!
On to the pizzas! First is the IL Supremo! (Php 445). If you want your pie to have possibly everything- this is the one for you. Every bite will give you the savory goodness of Italian sausage, ham, pepperoni, mushrooms, bell pepper, onions, black olives, anchovies, mozzarella, and the tingling sensation of parmesan cheese.
For the mains, we also got to have Pollo Arrostito (Php 340 half/ Php 655 whole). According to Philip, this dish continues to be popular, it is a finger licking, flavorful to the bones baked rosemary chicken. It comes with a side of fresh buttered vegetables, a fit to groups of friends and family. For those who want it a little hot, they also have the Honey-Sriracha Chicken (Php 438) now on the menu!
