I was able to go on a sponsored invite one day at the Artsy Cafe in Paligsahan, Quezon City. The interiors of Artsy Cafe is filled with vibrant colors, and inside it you’ll also find an upside-down rabbit display on a carpeted ceiling and sketches of random things. It can be your go-to place for reading or relaxation. This restaurant-cafe is worth coming back to given its homey ambience and personal service.
Artsy Cafe’s menu will actually impress you with its variety of food options which includes seafood, steak, and pasta dishes, alongside their unique desserts and cold beverages. You may also opt to choose the beans that will be used for your coffee fix.
This visit at the cafe happened after I went to its neighbor Filipino restaurant, Komedor, which happens to be under the same management as Artsy Cafe. We had a sumptuous lunch, but we were still served with a couple of treats. For starters, we had two salads – the market salad and the kani one, both of which impressed us with its freshness and distinct taste.
Know what’s superb in their menu? It was their fillet mignon which was priced at Php290. This one is a 150-gram wonder. The meat was just so tender. The gravy even kicked in an extra flavor to an already tasty steak. Even the mashed potato that came along with the dish was so filling.
Another food item in their menu that would be worth your while would be their bacon and cheeseburger. Take your time sinking your teeth into this American staple. This juicy burger is full of goodness. You can tell that their lengua dish was made with love. The beef tongue just melts in your mouth and its garlicky sauce is so delicious.
Artsy Cafe’s bangus en papillote is a surprise food entry in any cafe. Upon hearing the owners’ stories, the inclusion of this dish in the menu made sense. They actually culture their own milkfish, and this pride and joy of theirs is actually one of their best sellers. This latest dish is so flavorful, make sure that you pair it up with an extra order of rice.
My favorite piece in that cafe was the last food item that I had then – their blueberry cheesecake. Their cheesecake crumble was served in a bowl, together with vanilla ice cream. I loved it too much that I spooned out a lot of it more than I should. They also have other cakes, such as strawberry shortcake and moist chocolate cake, which we have happily indulged into.
