Pioneer Street Market in Buayang Bato, Mandaluyong actually boasts of a number of food stalls offering a variety of local and international cuisine, ranging from traditional local dishes to innovative ones. One of its food stalls, Auntie May’s, provide dishes that showcase Filipino and Spanish influences. Aside from their branch in Pioneer Street Market, they also have another branch near Greenfield Market.
Anyway, we actually got to try out two of Auntie May’s bestsellers, amidst a great number of food offerings in their menu – their Angus beef salpicao and escargot. The Angus beef salpicao is deserving of praises as the beef was really tender and overwhelming with flavors. The garlicky taste actually works well with the beef. This dish is definitely a must have here in Auntie May’s.
Their escargot was a steal deal for its generous portion and affordable price. I actually find it nice on my end to eat snail dishes once in a while.
It would also be nice to gulp down everything with a glass of lemonade. I just can’t wait to visit Auntie May’s once again and get to try out their home-cooked callos and tapa dishes.
