It was the kick-off of Real Love is Lady’s Choice: Creating Perfect Pairs as initiated by UFS PH (Unilever Food Solutions Philippines). Getting invited over to the event was a delightful surprise for me since being a foodie, it was a celebration of the ever renewing and creative food scene.
Given the countless new restaurants concepts, there is a rise in luxe drink concoctions, fusion dishes, and creative and fun food pairings fresh off their respective menus, which a lot of food enthusiasts, including myself, are always on the lookout for.
Aside from the already good food, a tasty dip or dressing on the side is always a most welcome option, especially when it comes to the Filipino palate and appetite. As a team of chefs, the UFS has constantly been stirring up new and exciting ways to transform simple dishes by matching it with dips that chefs and cooks can recreate with just one key ingredient – *drumroll* – Lady’s Choice Real Mayonnaise.
What better way to do just that with a Filipino household staple?
To demonstrate how it’s done, special guest Chef Fernando Aracama showcased three innovative (and mouthwatering) dips that launched the campaign along with a food pair: Cucumber & Dill Dip (Tzatziki) and Grilled Chicken Souvlaki, Peanut Butter & Chunky Chocolate Dip and fresh fruits, and Miso Ginger Dip with Yellow Fin Tuna & Salmon Skewers.
“We believe that good quality food does not have to be complex or make use of expensive ingredients. One ingredient can make a statement and help make a dish stand out, which Lady’s Choice Real Mayonnaise can do,” shared UFS Philippines Portfolio Manager for Dressings Nicki David.
Rather exciting to find that recreating or creating a new spin on a dip can be done even just at home. Combinations and possibilities are close to endless. Being a restaurateur myself, seeing new ways to make sure diners have a great experience at the restaurants is something that should always be looked out for.
As part of that day’s activities, they got some volunteers to curate their own dip recipe including Lady’s Choice Mayonnaise. They provided us a lot of ingredients. I got to participate by helping out Karen of BaratAko.com. I assisted in making her Italian seasoning possible.
UFS PH offers other ideas, apart from adding dips as an idea to innovate menus, in its newly revamped website for chefs and cooks alike.
