It was my first time at the newest Casino in town, Okada. This ginormous structure sits in the heart of Entertainment city and currently boasts one of the largest dancing fountains in the world, the same group who made Bellagio’s in Las Vegas and Burj Khalifa’s in Dubai. We went to this complex to see that and got dinner too while we were at it.
Currently there are four dining options inside the hotel. The others are still yet to be built including a strip of restaurants around it. We found Medley, Okada’s cafe and buffet place to be the best choice at that time for it was the most affordable stop even at Php 2,700 nett.
Medley was almost like Spiral and Cafe Ilang Ilang with its spread. It had numerous stations serving different popular cuisines from all over the world. They have the usual stops from Japanese sushi, fresh seafood including lobsters, multiple cheese and bread, salad bar with cold cuts, variety of meat carvings and one of the largest selections of desserts I’ve seen anywhere in the world. They also have a Cold Stone type for ice cream and a make your own crepe corner.
When buffets are common in hotels, what impressed me most here was their impeccable service. The staff would frequent our tables and would volunteer to get food for us. It was almost like ala carte sit down dinner. For instance they got me a platter of fresh mixed sushi, complete with ginger, wasabi and soy sauce. As a token of gesture, we gave them a generous tip.
