A different dining experience awaits you as Chef Raymar of Sangkap in Oranbo, Pasig makes a modern take on classic Filipino dishes. With every bite of the unique dishes he cooks, you will be reminded of your mom’s home-cooked meals, but prepared the modern way. Probably even made more flavorful.
When you get to Sangkap, you better try out their Ivatan Kilawin, which is fresh seafood in spiced vinegar. Also a must try is their chicken adobo pate, which is a unique take on the classic adobo. Their Cebu lechon belly sinigang, which consists of the much raved about meat from Cebu, is also worth trying, as well as their two versions of kare-kare pork belly and the beef head to tail, which were both prepared with a twist.
As for Sangkap’s desserts, get ready to be fascinated with their artisanal ice cream. They have four flavors namely, champorado, which had a nice balance of sweet and bitterness; Bicol express, which had a nice kick of spice to it; calamansi flavor, which had the right amount of sourness; and palitaw, which is my favorite flavor of them all. Its taste just lingers in your mouth.
