Tori Chizu is located at the ground floor of SM Megamall A where the cinemas are. This spot primarily offers Doria or Japanese Baked Rice. Each of the hot plates has loads of rice, your choice of meat, bechamel sauce, other sauces, topped with oozing mozzarella cheese. Since we were a group we had almost all varieties.
I personally had the Chicken Chizu Curry, while my two other friends ordered Kani Takoyaki and Beef Yakiniku. Each one retails from Php 145-155. Is it worth trying? Slightly yes. Tori Chizu should increase meat portions to make it filling, for it to have a sense of value for money. It was all mostly rice and cheese!
We also tried another one of their banner dish, Umami style Fried Chicken. Their crispy one-piece chicken with rice was only Php 89. This was a decent bite, it could use a bit more seasoning though to arrive at the real definition of umami, or a taste encompassing multiple flavors.
Other dishes we had include Tori Chizu’s no broth ramen, Mazemen, a sadly flat tasting noodle with bacon, corn, fish nori, and greens. For sides, we also shared thin cut fries and sesame coleslaw.
If you adore cheese and you feel like it should be everything you eat, then Tori Chizu might be worth traveling to. If you were simply curious, like me because they are new, they can be in your list of restaurants you can try while shopping at Megamall.
